             5 Lost City-You wan't Belive

From the birth of creation, different civilizations was  born in this world, different cities have been born. Some of these ancient cities have survived, have been improved. Again many cities are lost in the womb of time.

From the ancient city of Atlantis to the mysterious Eldorado, these ancient cities may have been lost in the womb of time, but their own mysterious stories and glorious histories still live on in people's minds. From the rugged jungles of Africa to the Mediterranean, these mysterious hidden cities have always attracted many explorers, many tourists.

It has inspired many writers, many filmmakers. Many books have been written, many movies have been made.

Today I will take you to that lost mysterious kingdom where once there was a king, there was a queen, there was wealth. But in the rotation of time it is past.

Welcome to that city of the past.

1.City of Z

Hidden in the deep jungles of Brazil is this lost city "Z". In 1925, a team led by the British surveyor “Colonel Percy Harrison Fawcett” entered the remote jungles of the Mato Grosso area of Brazil.

Their purpose was to find the ruins of an ancient civilization. Fawcett named this ancient city ‘The Lost City of Z’.

However, the sad thing is that, no one from this expedition was ever found. Not only that, those who went in search of the secrets of this city, had lost.

Thus, in the last few decades, about 100 people have gone to this city and disappeared unnoticed. None of them ever came back.

The city is thought to have been built on the basis of an archeological site, Kuhukugu, discovered in the early 21st century. Archaeologists estimate that at one time more than 50,000 people lived in the area.

In 2009, American author David Gran wrote a book about Fawcett's expedition called "The Lost City of Z". A movie based on this book was later made.

2.Atlantis

The island of Atlantis is first mentioned in the writings of the Greek philosopher "Plato" in 360 BC. For almost two millennia, this mysterious city has been the center of attraction for many explorers, researchers and historians.

It is said that, the  beautiful island was very vast. The island was the capital of a powerful kingdom.

As beautiful as the island was technically advanced, it had a strong navy. According to Plato, “fires and earthquakes in 9,600 BC destroyed the whole island in one night and buried it underwater.”

Various expeditions have been carried out in search of this sinking and mysterious city. However, researchers have not yet found the whereabouts of this lost city.

Although the whereabouts have not been found yet, the operation has not stopped. The latest expedition was led by “Simcha Jacobovichi”, a Canadian-Israeli journalist and investigative archaeologist, and was partnered by the famous film director “James Cameron”.

Jacobovichi and his team explored the ruins of the lost city at the bottom of the sea with various sources from Plato's writings and with the help of advanced technology. During this time they found six Bronze Age stone anchors in the Strait of Gibraltar off the coast of Spain.

But apart from these anchors, they found no other sign of Atlantis. Their discovery points to an advanced civilization that is about 4,000 years old. Maybe these are part of that lost Atlantis.

3. Lost Lyons Kingdom

The city is mentioned in the legend of King Arthur. According to legend, the state of Lyons was located on the island of Sicily in Britain.

One day this large  kingdom disappears into the rough sea. It is thought that the 140 islands currently located there are actually the mountain tops of the sunken state.

A travelogue written by the fourteenth-century author “William Worchester” first reveals a civilization lost on the Cornwall coast. According to the author, there was a vast expanse of land 40 miles from the sea before the flood.

According to his writings, “many churches, including many forests and fields, are all submerged today between the mountains and the island of Sicily.”

There are even references to the kingdom of Lyons in many stories of history. But the most famous of these is the legend of King Arthur.

There is mention of the kingdom of Lyons as the abode of the famous' hero “Tristan”. Not only that, but it is thought that the destruction of the kingdom of Lyons occurred during the reign of the legendary King Arthur.

Although researchers searched the area a lot, they did not find any trace of the lost city. It is thought that, the entire civilization was lost in the depths of the ocean after being submerged for 3,000 years.

4. El Dorado

The greed for money has existed since time immemorial. That's why people have been searching for the golden city of “El Dorado” for ages.

The legend of the golden city of El Dorado originated in the sixteenth century. During this time Europeans were addicted to finding new treasures in the new world.

Spain, in particular, sent all their occupants and explorers to South America so that they could find and bring all the valuables from there. At that time the rumor spread that “there is a city on the top of the Adrij mountain where there is no shortage of gold. Where the king covers his body with gold powder”.

From this story the city is named “El Dorado” or “City of Gold.”

Throughout history, many explorers have explored the city, some of whom have died in search of it. But no one has found the fate of this city till today.

Many novels have been written based on this city. Many films have been made about El Dorado.

5. The lost city of the Kalahari

There is also a lost civilization in the rugged desert of the Kalahari. In 1885, Canadian explorer and entertainment star "Guillermo Farini" became the first Westerner to cross the Kalahari, South Africa's undiscovered and inaccessible desert.

Returning to the end of the expedition, he presented to the public some pictures of the ruins of a lost civilization buried under the sands of the desert.

In his description, “We pitched our tents next to the long line of stone rubble. If the Great Wall of China were ever destroyed by an earthquake, it would look exactly as it should. After testing, we realized that it was part of an ancient structure buried under the sand. We searched the other parts of it for a few miles in the vicinity and found smooth rocks scattered. The cement joint was clearly visible in the middle of these stones. ”

Throughout the twentieth century, about a dozen explorers have explored this lost civilization of the Kalahari, as described by Farini. But surprisingly, no one found it.

However, in January 2017, several expeditions called 'Expedition Unknown' were carried out under the leadership of the American explorer Jose Gates.

At that time, using aerial scanners and radars, and according to the information given by Farini, while searching deep in the Kalahari, they found some man-made ruins near an oasis.

Maybe these are parts of the lost city that Farini mentioned. Maybe in one of the next expeditions we will know for sure.
